Do you have a question about your airport transfer or your private taxi journey that you need answered? We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions that our customers have asked about when booking their journey so we thought it would be good to share these with you, our customers. We aim to make your experience when you book your journey with Stonebank Travel as stress-free as possible. We cover airport transfers from all of Scotland’s major airports including Glasgow Airport and Edinburgh Airport, Prestwick, Aberdeen and Dundee Airport as well as offer a local 24 hour taxi service. How do I book my airport transfer?

This handy step-by-step will take you through the process:

  1. Visit our transfer booking page and supply your pick up and drop off locations, including any waypoints you'd like to visit along the way.
  2. On the following page you will be presented with a range of vehicle types to choose from, each being suited to a particular number of passengers with a maximum amount of luggage room. With each vehicle type you'll receive a quote for a single (one way) journey and a return (going and coming back) journey. Click on the vehicle type and price you'd like to select to continue.
  3. Provide the date(s) and time(s) you'd like the taxi to pick you up, making sure to include flight information if you're being collected from an airport and if you're going to an airport giving yourself plenty of time to arrive and check in.
  4. Check over all of your details and if everything is correct, continue to the next step.
  5. Sign in or sign up for your Stonebank Travel account. If you're signing up for the first time, we'll send you an email to confirm your email address to make contacting you easy.
  6. Make your payment. If you have an existing Stonebank Travel account we will have your card details on file from any earlier transfers you've booked with us, meaning you can pay with a single click. We accept Visa, Visa Electron, Visa Debit, MasterCard, Maestro, and American Express.
  7. After making your payment our system will find a suitable driver for your journey(s), at which point you'll receive their contact information, making them easy to find when you're ready for your transfer.

Do you take telephone bookings?

At this point all bookings must be made via our website. Our customer service line is for support only.

How much notice do I need to give to book a transfer?

Please give at least three (3) hours lead time for your pick up.

What does the transfer fee include?

Your fee includes waiting at the airport, fuel, and the route from your pick up point to your drop off point, including any waypoints you've added in between.

What should I do if my driver doesn't arrive?

In the unlikely scenario that your driver doesn't arrive, the first thing you should do is try calling them on the telephone number provided in your booking confirmation email. If you still cannot reach your driver, please contact us on 0330 043 7141 and we will either find you a new driver to fulfil your transfer or provide you with a full refund. Any refunds will take between 5-10 business days to return to your bank.

Can I trust the drivers from Stonebank Travel?

All of our drivers are vetted by company management and we closely monitor their licenses, insurance documentation, and certification so that you can rest assured that your driver is safe to travel with.

How can I be certain that my luggage will fit in the vehicle?

On step 2 of the booking process each vehicle type has details about the number of passengers it can carry and the maximum storage available for luggage. It is your responsibility to select a vehicle type which is large enough to meet your requirements. If you select a small people carrier, you will never be met with a vehicle smaller than a small people carrier (although you may be picked up in a vehicle which is larger, at no additional cost) so you can be assured there will always be enough room.

Are there any limitations on journey distance?

There are no limitations on journey distance. If there are roads between the places you'd like to travel from and to, we'll get you there.

Are your vehicles wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately we do not have any wheelchair accessible vehicles at this time.

My party is larger than 8 people, what should I do?

In the circumstances where more than eight (8) passengers are travelling, two (2) or more bookings should be made. Each booking is made on a per vehicle basis.

Are pets permitted within the vehicles?

Only guide dogs may accompany a passenger in our vehicles.
